about my story

As a teacher, I always built my classrooms around flow, calm, and connection.

I would think carefully about how each child would enter the space, how the classroom would feel emotionally, and how every child could feel safe, welcomed, and seen from the moment they walked through the door.

My classroom doors were always open.

Teaching taught me not only how to support children, but also how to build systems and processes that support people sustainably and thoughtfully.

My Montessori background deeply shaped this way of thinking — the importance of order, observation, independence, and creating intentional environments that nurture critical thinking, emotional regulation, and problem-solving.

As a former Head Teacher, I embraced distributed leadership approaches where educators were encouraged to lead through their own strengths and passion projects.

I have also experienced many challenges, setbacks, and moments where things did not go as planned.

But I chose not to hold onto those experiences as my narrative.

Instead, I learned to reflect with curiosity:

• What can I learn from this?

• How can this evolve?

• What can be improved next time?

That mindset shaped the values behind JL Education — a values-led business rooted in trust, relationships, compassion, emotional wellbeing, and long-term meaningful impact.
